November 30 A land with no sorrows, pain or tears Sis. Rebecca Ann Smith
March 21, 1946 ~ November 28, 2006
Tuesday evening, November 28 The battle is now over, the victory has been won! God decided Tuesday evening at 6:10 pm Tucson time that He needed Sister Rebekah more in Heaven than we needed her here. With family around her singing "Hallelujah", the Angels came and ferried her peacefully across the river, and she is now rejoicing, without pain. His decisions are best and we are trusting Him more now than ever before. His Grace is sufficient. We thank every one of you for your prayers and kind words. God richly bless you. Brother George Smith & family Funeral Arrangements: In accordance with her wishes, the following arrangements have been made for Sister Rebekah’s funeral. Sunday, December 3rd, 2 - 6 p.m. A private ceremony and burial will be held the following day.
In lieu of flowers, she requested that monies be directed to the missions account of your local church or organization of your choice. The above article was taken from: www.onlybelieve.com
The year was 1946 - Ten years after the death of his father; nine years after the Ohio River Flood, the death of his wife, Hope, and his daughter, Sharon Rose. But 1946 would be the year of "new beginnings" for William Branham, his family and his ministry. This Kentucky Hillbilly would be moved "Front and Center" of a "Signs and Wonders" Revival that would sweep around the World. The new beginnings would start with the birth of a child. Through Sister Meda, God had restored to him the faithful wife William Branham had lost in his first marriage, Hope. Now, God, in type, restored to him the little girl he had also lost. On March 21, 1946, Sister Meda gave birth to a little baby girl - the infant was named Rebekah, meaning "captivating". She captivated the heart of the young preacher who was still a captive of past sorrows - but once again God comforted His servant. Less than two months after the birth of his daughter Rebekah, there would be a "New Beginning" for his ministry - the ministry he neither sought nor wanted. This ministry wasn't just "a calling" he received 'after' his conversion; It was predestinated, fore-ordained before the foundation of the world. Like Jeremiah, "he was ordained a Prophet, even from the womb" (Jeremiah 1:5). On May 7, 1946, Brother Branham had an experience in the front yard of his home which compelled him to go to his Cave to seek answers from God concerning the peculiar Anointing that had followed him all the days of his life. It was there, that night, in the cave, that An Angel was sent from the Presence of God to explain to Brother Branham (in part) what his ministry was all about. The visitation of this Angel became the spring-board for the Healing Revival that would sweep accross America and around the world. Brother Branham's obedience was put to the test again as it was in 1934. He had established a small church in Jeffersonville, Indiana; he was well known as a preacher in the local area; he was married to lovely young woman; he had a young son; now, their marriage was blessed by the birth of this little girl named Rebekah. She was just six weeks old when he received his commission from the Angel. BUT William Branham had learned his lesson in obedience. He kissed his wife, son and little girl good-bye and ventured forth accross the nation to preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Little Rebekah would be six months old before he saw her again. During those very early years of her life, Rebekah would see very little of her father. But, there were occasions when she was priviledged to be with her father in the meetings. She was just eight years old when she saw her first vision, and the Lord used her to intercede for the sick during some of the Revival Meetings. Brother Branham, in a couple of different messages told what happened: I Will Restore - 54-0809A Do You Now Believe? - 54-0307E "And in this great meeting, I was going out one night and they was taking me down the street, and I could hear somebody crying. And it was setting in the back seat, my little girl of eight years old, little Rebekah. And she's very spiritual. At home when people are talking about the Gospel, she'll be in the other room listening through the door. She can ask me questions that I can't answer. So, and just eight years old...
Jjust a word for her. She saw her first vision about two weeks ago. One night in Hammond, Indiana, she was crying. They got me out of the meeting - I was about to pass out myself; And I said, "What's the matter, honey?" No, she wasn't destined to become a Woman preacher but there was a work for her to do. She had seen and witnessed much in the life and ministry of her father. She was just a teenager of 19 years old when her father passed away. Shortly after her fathers passing, she married Brother George Smith who would become a vital part of a work which would be ordained to carry on the Worldwide Ministry of God's Prophet. Just prior to his passing in December of 1965, Brother Branham had bought, decorated, and furnished a home in Tucson. He had stated that it was for his family. He had never lived in it himself. During the move to the New home, Brother Branham had gathered and boxed items (related to his ministry - papers, magazines, photos, etc.) that he had collected over the years - this he presented to Sister Rebekah. "Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, a day that's set aside where our pilgrim forefathers set that day aside to give thanks to God for what we had--what He had done for us, for blessing them, giving them crops and so forth. Tonight I want to say that there's so many things that I'm thankful for. I don't know how to give thanks to God for so many blessings. Be sure to remember that tomorrow. If your church has service, attend. Tomorrow night we continue on with our services here. And we're expecting you, if you can, to be out with us tomorrow night. Be sure. If you don't have church service, then at home, get the family together, set down, take God's Word, read it. Tell your children about it. Tell them that this nation was built upon such as that. Our forefathers who fought to--to bring this freedom to us and left the other country so that we could have freedom of worship, and freedom of speech, and freedom of press, and so forth. And we're thankful yet for it. We don't know how long it will last that way, but I say this, "Long may our lands be bright with freedom's holy light; protect us by Thy might, great God, our King." "This is my message to the church now as you--as we go off the air just in a minute. You are standing, if you're standing on God's Word and with God's Word, every amen, every jot, every tittle. Where you standing? I'm trying to tell you: Pull away from them shucks and get out here in the wheat where you can get ripe before the sun. I hear the coming of the combine. You're standing complete, justified like you never did it in the first place. Hallelujah. Talk about a Thanksgiving. I feel real good. I'm more thankful for that than anything I know of.
