A land with no sorrows, pain or tears

    Sis. Rebecca Ann Smith
    March 21, 1946 ~ November 28, 2006

    Tuesday evening, November 28

The battle is now over, the victory has been won!

God decided Tuesday evening at 6:10 pm Tucson time that He needed Sister Rebekah more in Heaven than we needed her here. With family around her singing "Hallelujah", the Angels came and ferried her peacefully across the river, and she is now rejoicing, without pain. His decisions are best and we are trusting Him more now than ever before. His Grace is sufficient.

We thank every one of you for your prayers and kind words. God richly bless you. Brother George Smith & family

The year was 1946 - Ten years after the death of his father; nine years after the Ohio River Flood, the death of his wife, Hope, and his daughter, Sharon Rose. But 1946 would be the year of "new beginnings" for William Branham, his family and his ministry. This Kentucky Hillbilly would be moved "Front and Center" of a "Signs and Wonders" Revival that would sweep around the World.

The new beginnings would start with the birth of a child. Through Sister Meda, God had restored to him the faithful wife William Branham had lost in his first marriage, Hope. Now, God, in type, restored to him the little girl he had also lost. On March 21, 1946, Sister Meda gave birth to a little baby girl - the infant was named Rebekah, meaning "captivating". She captivated the heart of the young preacher who was still a captive of past sorrows - but once again God comforted His servant.

Less than two months after the birth of his daughter Rebekah, there would be a "New Beginning" for his ministry - the ministry he neither sought nor wanted. This ministry wasn't just "a calling" he received 'after' his conversion; It was predestinated, fore-ordained before the foundation of the world. Like Jeremiah, "he was ordained a Prophet, even from the womb" (Jeremiah 1:5).

On May 7, 1946, Brother Branham had an experience in the front yard of his home which compelled him to go to his Cave to seek answers from God concerning the peculiar Anointing that had followed him all the days of his life. It was there, that night, in the cave, that An Angel was sent from the Presence of God to explain to Brother Branham (in part) what his ministry was all about. The visitation of this Angel became the spring-board for the Healing Revival that would sweep accross America and around the world.

Brother Branham's obedience was put to the test again as it was in 1934. He had established a small church in Jeffersonville, Indiana; he was well known as a preacher in the local area; he was married to lovely young woman; he had a young son; now, their marriage was blessed by the birth of this little girl named Rebekah. She was just six weeks old when he received his commission from the Angel. BUT William Branham had learned his lesson in obedience. He kissed his wife, son and little girl good-bye and ventured forth accross the nation to preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Little Rebekah would be six months old before he saw her again.

During those very early years of her life, Rebekah would see very little of her father. But, there were occasions when she was priviledged to be with her father in the meetings. She was just eight years old when she saw her first vision, and the Lord used her to intercede for the sick during some of the Revival Meetings. Brother Branham, in a couple of different messages told what happened:

    I Will Restore - 54-0809A Do You Now Believe? - 54-0307E

"And in this great meeting, I was going out one night and they was taking me down the street, and I could hear somebody crying. And it was setting in the back seat, my little girl of eight years old, little Rebekah. And she's very spiritual. At home when people are talking about the Gospel, she'll be in the other room listening through the door. She can ask me questions that I can't answer. So, and just eight years old...

Jjust a word for her. She saw her first vision about two weeks ago. One night in Hammond, Indiana, she was crying. They got me out of the meeting - I was about to pass out myself; And I said, "What's the matter, honey?"
And she said, "Daddy, She's way back up in the balcony. Some poor old woman, laying on a stretcher - And you said, 'All that wants to be healed, raise up your hand.' But you couldn't see her. The crowd stood up and you couldn't see her."
That poor little heart was breaking. And I said, "Well, honey, she didn't raise her hand. Jesus saw her."
She said, "But, daddy, You didn't see her. And she wanted you to see her."
I said, "It'll be all right. Jesus will heal her."
And the next night, little Rebekah, climbed up in that balcony, and seen the woman and started praying for her. And that same night, the Holy Spirit turned me around to the woman. She had to lay flat. And the Holy Spirit told her, "Stand on her feet." And she was healed. And when she did, little Rebekah was setting behind her praying for her; that's what done it; And God called her and healed and made her perfectly well. And she packed her bed out of the building that night. That's right. Rebekah praying...

And this girl that was healed the other night, I didn't know Rebekah was there, 'cause I couldn't even see it. But she said, "Daddy, when you called, when you called those prayer cards, she commenced to crying," said, "her number wasn't called." And little Rebekah was setting right in behind the chair. I believe that's right, Sister Woods, you know. She was setting right in behind the chair back there, praying that God would help this poor girl. And there she is come across and she was healed right there. Looks like I'm going to have a woman preacher sure as the world in the family. So there it is. All right.

No, she wasn't destined to become a Woman preacher but there was a work for her to do. She had seen and witnessed much in the life and ministry of her father. She was just a teenager of 19 years old when her father passed away. Shortly after her fathers passing, she married Brother George Smith who would become a vital part of a work which would be ordained to carry on the Worldwide Ministry of God's Prophet.

Just prior to his passing in December of 1965, Brother Branham had bought, decorated, and furnished a home in Tucson. He had stated that it was for his family. He had never lived in it himself. During the move to the New home, Brother Branham had gathered and boxed items (related to his ministry - papers, magazines, photos, etc.) that he had collected over the years - this he presented to Sister Rebekah.

    "Though I have suffered
    In many a way,
    I cried for healing
    Both night and day;
    But faith wasn't forgotten
    By the Father above,
    He gave me His sign
On the wings of a dove.
On the wings of a snow-white dove,
God sends down His pure, sweet love,
    Oh, a sign from above,
On the wings of a dove.
On the wings of a snow-white dove,
God sends down His pure, sweet love,
    A sign from above,
On the wings of a dove."

    Thanksgiving

"Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, a day that's set aside where our pilgrim forefathers set that day aside to give thanks to God for what we had--what He had done for us, for blessing them, giving them crops and so forth.
It's one real American day.  All the other days, like Saint Patrick's, and so forth, come from across the seas.  But this is an American holiday: Thanksgiving Day.

Tonight I want to say that there's so many things that I'm thankful for.  I don't know how to give thanks to God for so many blessings.  Be sure to remember that tomorrow.  If your church has service, attend.  Tomorrow night we continue on with our services here. And we're expecting you, if you can, to be out with us tomorrow night.  Be sure. If you don't have church service, then at home, get the family together, set down, take God's Word, read it. Tell your children about it.  Tell them that this nation was built upon such as that.  Our forefathers who fought to--to bring this freedom to us and left the other country so that we could have freedom of worship, and freedom of speech, and freedom of press, and so forth.  And we're thankful yet for it.  We don't know how long it will last that way, but I say this, "Long may our lands be bright with freedom's holy light; protect us by Thy might, great God, our King."

FROM THE BEGINNING IT WASN'T SO  SAN.JOSE.CA WEDNESDAY 59-11-25

"This is my message to the church now as you--as we go off the air just in a minute. You are standing, if you're standing on God's Word and with God's Word, every amen, every jot, every tittle. Where you standing? I'm trying to tell you: Pull away from them shucks and get out here in the wheat where you can get ripe before the sun. I hear the coming of the combine. You're standing complete, justified like you never did it in the first place. Hallelujah. Talk about a Thanksgiving. I feel real good. I'm more thankful for that than anything I know of.
You are the pure, virtuous, sinless Bride of the Son of the living God. Every man and woman that's born of the Spirit of God, and washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ, and believes every Word of God, stands as though you never sinned at the first place. You're perfect. The Blood of Jesus Christ..."

    Saturday November 11, 2006

    Dear Friends,

Humanly speaking we are experiencing some very dark hours.

From all the physical signs, Sister Rebekah is not improving. We are continuing to believe for a miracle of His healing hand, fearing not. Our faith is in knowing that the perfect will of God will be done.

We are very thankful for all your prayers and your love and concern. That is what has sustained us all through this trial. God bless you.

As we continue on we will keep you posted at this site. We love all of you.

     Bro. George Smith

     Sis. Barbara Howansky

Please also remember Sis. Barbara Howansky on Wednesday November 15, 2006 as she goes for surgery for a procedure to be done to her heart.

    God Bless You,

    Pastor Luke Gibson

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:14-15
